TSF Close Up: Jacyn Siebert

"My name is Jacyn Siebert and I am Sugar Lips Lifestyle Tips. I am based out of the San Francisco Bay Area and have been blogging for almost two years. I am a mentor for mainly women but have had a few guys along the way as well. I am a member of SFFAMA and participate in various fashion events in SF throughout the year. I am currently coordinating with a local magazine to create a runway show in celebration of FNO/NY Fashion Week."

TSF: What was your first fashion related job?
JS: I worked at the local mall at a store called Chess King. I was a model at 7 for my mom's clothing and did a mall runway show when I was a teenager. The job above was a men's clothing store specializing in jeans and casual wear.

TSF: How long have you been interested in fashion?
JS: Since I was very little I loved tights, patent leather shoes and dresses. I was also a huge fan of rompers. I used to sit and watch my mother get dressed up for a night out, then sneak into her bedroom after she left and played with her makeup, her fur coat and high heels. I couldn't quite reach her jewelry though.

TFS: Is there a certain type of makeup that wear?
JS: Bare Essentials powder, Sephora or Bobbi Brown blush, MAC or Beauticontrol eye shadow, and Smashbox lipgloss.

TSF: What would you say is a great way to start your dream career?
JS: Follow your heart. Every minute counts so use them wisely and every oppportunity is an oppportunity to learn. Baby steps in the right direction is far better than miles in the wrong one.

TSF: Do you have a favorite designer?
JS: Valentino. He is elegant, timeless and brilliant.

TSF: How would you define your style?
JS: A little tomboy meets glam, yet classic and timeless.

TSF: Are you big on labels?
JS: No labels limit your options. Go for style.

TSF: Who would you say is a fashion icon?
JS: Coco Chanel, of course.

TSF: Are there any celebs that you pull inspiration from?
JS: Kate Hudson, Gisele Bundchën and Demi Moore.

TSF: Do you have any fashion pet peeves?
JS: Trying too hard. A look has to be effortless. That doesn't mean that it shouldn't be well rehearsed. Practice being comfortable in your skin and your true colors will shine.

TSF: Do you like online shopping or do you prefer in store?
JS: I hate shopping. I love new stuff, hate shopping for it. I would love a personal stylist so by default I shop online quite a bit.

TSF: Do you have a favorite magazine?
JS: Vogue. Its the fashion bible.

TSF Closet

So today as I stated in my trend post I said I went to an interview today. (Crosses fingers) I really wanted to look fab, even in the rain.
I wore my grey denim washed out blazer from Torrid, my Forever 21 long sleeve striped v-neck shirt, dark blue jeggings, and black flats.
I slicked my hair into a high bun and wore simple heart shaped studs. I felt super confident in this outfit and really hoped it showed!

TSF Trend: Knit Headband

Well my lovelys today I had an interview. I won't name the store because I don't want to jinx it but I feel very confident about it. Anywho when I was finished I went into the new H&M, it got renovated and relocated so now its way bigger. So I looked around I love the fall stuff they have and I definitely have my eye on a pair of wedges. I've always loved H&M for there bags! I love bags that's one accessory I will constatntly buy even though I have some bags I've never used. I saw this knit headband and it reminded me of the turban headband that Gabi of gabifresh.com (formerly youngfatandfabulous.com) wore in one of her photos. I've been dying to buy one especially from forever 21. So I bought this one for $4.95. Can't wait to wear it!

Emmy Favorite

Well seeing as how I didn't watch the Red Carpet for the Emmy's it was difficult to see who was wearing what. Thanks to Twitter twipics were booming last night and let me just say I was so dissapointed this year. I wasn't very impressed with most of the dresses, some were ridiculous and others were down right plain or blah. Regardless of who the designer is the dress is supposed to have a wow factor not a what the hell is that factor. I will not sit by and be like any other blogger who just gushes over a dress because of the designer, sorry I may love the maker but if the dress is not a wow then I'm not going to lie.
Anywho I did have one favorite. Nina Dobrev shocked me in this GORGEOUS Donna Karran DKNY dress. It was so elegant and fit her like a glove. It was timeless. Chic.

A Kardashian Event

Well like in my previous post, Kylie Jenner walked in Avril Lavignes fashion show. Her sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Kendall were all front row to cheer her on (even Kris, Kim's hubby and Brody Jenner were said to be getting along quite well). Though it was said that the girls weren't very interested by the line at all, it seemed as though they only cheered when Kylie came marching down the runway.

Watch Fashion Week Live!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week starts in just a week and once again is partnering with Maybelline and YouTube to offer live online streams of the runway at Lincoln Center. Morw thand 30 shows will stream live from YouTube's "Live From The Runway" channel. September 1st they will go live for a weeks worth of pre-season coverage priorto September 8th. It will also cover backstage beauty coverage, recaps, and trend forecasting.

J Brand Announces New Sportswear Line!

The jeans label J Brand has announced today that they will be launching a full sportswear line for next spring. Its aiming to sell its new collection alongside Helmut Lang, Rag & Bone, Isabel Marant and Carven retail floor. J Brand has built a significant denim business at retailers such as Barney Co-op, Harvey Nichols, Ron Herman, Net-a-porter.com, Montaigne market and Bloomingdale's. The label also plans to add shoes and handbags in 2013 and will also open a flagship store in New York and London in three years, said so by CEO Jeff Rudes.
